Cicero Avenue

The Chicago North (Cicero Ave.) counseling center is our flagship office, located in our administrative center. The office is the successor to our original counseling location, which opened in July 1984, in a two room office, around the corner from our present facility (that office was located directly across the street from one of the busiest abortuaries in the city of Chicago.) We rented that space until the building was purchased in January 1994. A separate Hispanic outreach center was open from 1986 until 1992, at a location about three miles east at Lawrence and Western Avenues. This office was closed and combined with the Cicero Av facility in September 1992.

The Chicago (North) counseling and administrative center is located in Chicago at 5116 North Cicero Avenue, just south of Foster Avenue and just north of Elston. It is conveniently located off the Edens Expressway (I-94). Northbound exit at Foster Avenue. Turn right at stop sign, cross over bridge and turn left at stoplight (Cicero Avenue). The three story building is located in about 50 yards on your right, just beyond the Edens Health Club. Parking is available in front. Southbound exit at Cicero Avenue. Merge onto southbound Cicero Avenue, and continue about three blocks, to just past the first stoplight (Foster Avenue). Building is on your right just past the Edens Health Club. If you are coming in on I-90 from the airport area or Northwest or Tri-State Tollways, exit at Lawrence Avenue. Turn left at the light, proceed about one half mile to Cicero Avenue (traffic light). Turn left and proceed three blocks to just past the first stoplight (Elston Avenue). Building is on your left.

Public transportation is available via the 92/Foster Ave. bus, which stops at the corner just north of the building. The bus runs to the Red Line Rapid Transit eastbound, and to the Blue Line to the west. There is also limited service on Cicero Avenue during rush hours and on Saturdays, connecting to the main Cicero Avenue bus line, which terminates a mile south of the building. Evergreen Park

The Chicago South (Evergreen Park) counseling center is located in suite 318 of a six-story office building, attached to the Evergreen Park Shopping Center. Founded in November 1990, it quickly became, and remains to this date, by far the busiest of our centers. This center alone has seen as many as 330 new clients in a single month!

The Chicago South (Evergreen Park) counseling center is located at 9730 South Western Avenue in Evergreen Park, directly across the street from the Chicago city limit. 95th Street is the main east-west artery in the area, and Western Avenue is a major north-south artery. Visitors coming from the Tri-State Tollway, exit at 95th Street and proceed east six miles to Western Avenue. Turn right and go three blocks to the building on right. Parking is available under and around the building. If coming from the Dan Ryan Expressway, exit at 95th and proceed west three miles to Western Avenue. Turn left and go three blocks to the building, on your right.

Public transportation is available via the 95th Street bus, which runs west from the Red Line Rapid Transit and stops in front of the door to our building. Many other city and suburban routes feed into the area. Call RTA travel information at (312) 836-7000.

Des Plaines (Northwest Suburban)

The Des Plaines (northwest suburban) counseling center is located in suite 114 of the Golf-River Professional Building, across the street from Holy Family Hospital. It also has the distinction of being located in the same building with a very busy abortuary. The office opened in November 1987, after months of intense picketing of the abortuary until an agreement to lease was reached with the landlord.

The Des Plaines (northwest suburban) counseling center is located at 1455 East Golf Road, at the intersection of Golf (east-west) and Des Plaines River Roads (north-south). Des Plaines River Road is also US 45. It is located about one half mile east and south of US 12 (Rand Road), which runs on a northwesterly angle. It is also located about one mile west of I-294 (Tri-State Tollway). If coming from the north, exit at Golf Road. After paying the toll, turn left at the light, and then right at the light at Golf Road. Go to the first stoplight (Des Plaines River Road) and turn left. Turn right immediately afterward , into the parking lot in front of the building. If coming from the south, exit at Dempster (West). Keep right around the curve, under the bridge and then onto Rand Road (Rte. 12). (You will be making an almost 360 degree turn.) Follow Rand Road about one mile to Des Plaines River Road. Turn right on River Road and go about one half mile to our building on your left. Make a left turn into the parking lot just before you get to the light at Golf Road. If you are coming from Chicago on I-90 (Kennedy Expressway), exit toward O'Hare Airport on I-190, proceed about one half mile and exit at River Road. Turn left on River Road and go north five miles to just before Golf Road.
